Customer description
IP-Only (Sweden) is an Internet and VoIP Service Provider. They use Invite Networks’ Optimised Routing services, Number Portability and E.164 routing for VoIP peering purposes.
Customer need
IP-Only needed to route all calls within its VoIP peering union correctly and without having to go through the PSTN.
Solution
Invite’s NP service is SIP based and works according to the ACQ (All Call Query) principle. Invite have a connection to the NP CRDB (SNPAC) in Sweden to access all ported numbers (fixed and mobile). IP-Only have a SIP connection to Invite’s SIP Redirect server. For each national call in IP-Only’s network, their server sends a SIP Invite message to Invite Networks’ SIP Redirect server. The number is checked, first if it’s ported, and if not, against the national E.164 number plan. A routing prefix is provided for all national calls and as a result IP-Only can send all their national calls directly to their VoIP peering partners, regardless if they are ported or non-ported numbers.
